Sancia Celestin

Policy Intern

Sancia will be an incoming senior at George Mason University in the fall and will be graduating in May 2020. She is majoring in psychology with a minor in public policy and management. She attended NCAN’s Hill Day event on Capitol Hill in February and served on the student panel. Additionally, Sancia testified in the U.S. House of Representatives earlier this year as part of an Appropriations Committee public witness hearing. She is also an Access College Foundation scholarship recipient.

Before joining NCAN, Sancia was a postsecondary policy intern at the Center for American Progress, where she conducted research on the effects of state disinvestment in postsecondary education, the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), and the recent shutdown of for-profit colleges.

Sancia is also the president of a student organization, F1rst Gen Mason, that strives to create an educational and supportive network that will increase retention and graduation rates of first-generation college students at George Mason University.
