On March 2-3, NCAN will host its annual Advocacy Training and Hill Day in Washington, D.C. This member-only training is a tremendous professional development opportunity for you and your students – you will learn from policy experts, meet fellow members, and prepare for congressional meetings. During Hill meetings you will build relationships and share how your organization supports students. Help advocate for policies that promote college access and success for our students!

On March 2-3, NCAN will host its annual Advocacy Training and Hill Day in Washington, D.C. This two-day in-person training for NCAN members is a tremendous professional development opportunity for your staff and your students. Through the training, you will learn from policy experts about relevant issues, meet fellow NCAN member organizations, and prepare for your congressional meetings. By participating, you will also build relationships with your federal officials in Washington and share the great work that your organization is doing to support students.

Please note there will be a preparatory webinar for the March Advocacy Training on Thursday, Jan. 23, from 1-2 p.m. ET. Link to register for the webinar here. We appreciate you making the time to join. 


The Advocacy Training will take place on March 2 at the National Housing Center (1201 15th Street, NW Washington, D.C. 20005), which is located by the White House. On March 3, there will be a morning program of a panel discussion with congressional staff, at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center (First St NE, Washington, DC 20515), followed by the meetings that you have scheduled with your congressional offices. A detailed agenda is forthcoming.

Student Stipends

In the registration, you will be asked if your organization would like to receive a stipend for a student’s participation. The stipend will allot $750 for a student’s travel and $250 for the student’s time. We will notify you if your organization has been selected for a student stipend.
