Protecting Immigrant Families Campaign Webinar: Public Charge 101 Training

November 14, 2018
1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

The Trump administration recently proposed changes to the "public charge" determination that is part of the visa evaluation for immigrants. This determination allows immigration officials to consider whether an immigrant will become reliant on government assistance, and it can be used to deny visas.

If you would like to learn more about the proposed changes, you can register for this webinar hosted by Protecting Immigrant Families, a collaboration between the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) and the National Immigration Law Center (NILC).

For more information about the proposed changes to the public charge review process as well as some messages college access providers can relay to the students and parents they work with, read this blog post from NCAN Director of Policy and Advocacy Carrie Warick.
