NCAN Welcomes 2 New Board Members

At its annual meeting today, the NCAN membership elected two new individuals to serve on its 13-member national board of directors. NCAN offers its deepest thanks to outgoing board members Kim Mazucca, president of 10,000 Degrees, and Willis Hulings, managing director of Middlegrounde Partners, both of whom had served with distinction for nine years, the maximum term permitted by NCAN's bylaws. 

The new board members are:

Dr. Nate Easley. Nate Easley, Ph.D., is executive director of NCAN member theDenver Scholarship Foundation (DSF). Prior to joining DSF, Dr. Easley served as president and secretary of the Denver Public Schools Board of Education. He also worked as vice president for national and international programs for the Council for Opportunity in Education. Dr. Easley serves on Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper’s Framing Committee and his Education Leadership Council. He is a member of the Community College of Denver Advisory Council and the National Advisory Council for Texas Guaranteed Inc.

Dr. Easley served as an Upward Bound counselor and assistant director at Colorado State University, president of the Colorado TRIO Association (Colorado ASPIRE), board member for the Western Association of Educational Opportunity Personnel, director of the Student Support Services program and the campus learning center at the University of California at San Diego, and as a member of Colorado Governor Ritter’s P-20 Council.  Dr. Easley is a proud graduate of Montbello High School in Denver as well as of Colorado State University and American University

Sasha Peterson. Mr. Peterson is CEO of TargetX, a leading customer relationship management (CRM) company. TargetX provides a campuswide solution to help colleges build relationships and forge lifelong communications with their most important constituencies, including prospective students, current students, alumni and potential donors. Prior to joining TargetX, Mr. Peterson held a variety of executive leadership roles at top education technology firms including President of Hobsons EMT and VP of Partnerships at Altius Education. He began his career as co-founder of Academic Engine and has more than 15 years of education technology experience. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
