Austin, Texas-based College Forward, an NCAN member, has announced the market release of its student information system, CoPilot, on the Salesforce AppExchange. CoPilot emerged from more than a decade’s worth of research and evaluation and is intended to serve as a comprehensive data solution consisting of a series of detailed tables, with a web-based user interface, facilitating the capture of students' academic, financial, and social data. Built on the cloud-based platform, it provides a 360-degree view of student progress toward a college degree.

CoPilot aims to make it easier for college completion organizations, educators, and advisors to quickly and easily upload, curate, and synthesize information for data-driven student interventions.

Virginia Potter, Program Officer at the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation described the system as providing a “great roadmap for organizations in helping students obtain a college degree."

Using CoPilot managers are able to make more informed programmatic decisions by accessing some pertinent information from the system. CoPilot Administrators can leverage a number of workflows, validation rules, and automated reporting functions (all parts of the Salesforce platform), allowing them to monitor the usage of program staff, and quickly assess the quality and completeness of student data.

Additionally, College Forward offers implementation and post-launch support to ensure a successful database transition.

Among the first licensees are College Possible (St. Paul, MN), Project Grad (Houston, TX), and San Juan Diego Catholic High School (Austin, TX), which demonstrates the flexibility and customizability of the application across various organization types.

“We are currently working with three organizations to help launch our database to better serve approximately 15,000 students, collectively,” says Austin Buchan, Chief of Staff for College Forward. “Due to our initial success, CoPilot is gaining significant momentum in the world of education-focused nonprofits and, more recently, the world of secondary and post-secondary institutions.”

If you are interested in learning more, NCAN will host a webinar to demo the solution for all member organizations on January 27th at 2:00 p.m. EST. We hope to see you there!

CoPilot is now available on the Salesforce AppExchange, available at a discount for nonprofit organizations. To learn more about CoPilot, please read this recent story in the Austin Business Journal and visit the Salesforce AppExchange.
