See the 2018 Thankful4Pell Campaign Highlights

November 26, 2018

Another year, another successful Thankful4Pell campaign in the books! Thank you to everyone who participated and expressed appreciation for Pell Grants to the elected officials who make funding decisions about this crucial need-based aid program.

It’s a fight each year to secure small increases in funding for Pell. We cannot take lawmaker support for granted, which is why it’s key to regularly express our thanks and demonstrate the vital role the program plays in our students' lives.

For the fifth consecutive year, NCAN members and other supporters came out in full force.

During the week of the campaign, participants sent out more than 1,700 tweets and retweets using #Thankful4Pell.

There were even a few members of Congress who used the hashtag.

To see more of the messages shared on Twitter, check out the 2018 #Thankful4Pell Campaign Twitter Moment, which highlights some of the insightful, creative tweets you all shared. You can also search for the #Thankful4Pell hashtag to see many more awesome, pro-Pell tweets.

Many of our members also used Facebook to share why they are grateful for Pell Grants.

Thank you, again, to everyone who took the time to tweet, post, and pen emails to their members of Congress – nearly 70 messages total – in support of the Pell Grant program. Your efforts make a difference for low-income students across the U.S.
